Evans Oduor,
City Stars v Chemelil Sugar (City Stadium, 2pm)
The two sides played out a 1-1 draw in their first leg tie in Chemelil
on April 11.
On paper there is nothing much to separate the two sides but pressure
will be more on the sugar millers to get a result, firstly because
they are the bigger side and secondly, because they are undergoing a
rough patch that has seen them win just once in eight outings.
“Our performance lately has left a lot to be desired. We must improve
if we want to harbour any thoughts of finishing in the top quarters,”
under siege Chemelil coach Mike Mururi said. Chemelil are currently
placed a lowly 12th – by their high standards – on the league table.
City have looked very useful this second leg, no doubt buoyed by their
juicy Sh81-million sponsorship from German sports related firm PM
International AG.
Club old boy Jimmy Bageya, a gifted but flawed talent, is back at the
Kawangware-based City Stars and on evidence of his enterprising play
against AFC Leopards last weekend, he could be the key to unlocking
the rather shaky Chemelil defence that has let in 10 goals in their
last four matches.
