The draws for the 2017 edition of the Barclays cup were made this morning at the Taj Pamodzi hotel. 2017 finalists Sensational Zanaco will take on Powerful Power Dynamos in the quarter finals while Napsa Stars will play Green Buffaloes.

Prior to the quarter finals division one teams will be involved in elimination play off matches. New Monze Swallows will take on Kitwe United while National Assembly will tackle Kabwe Youth Sports Academy.
Barclays Bank has also increased prize monies for this years tournament. Barclays Bank Managing Director Mizinga Melu announced that the 2017 edition will gobble a total of K2.1 million.
Prize money has been upped from K300, 000 to K350, 000 with the runner up getting K180, 00 from last year’s K150, 00 while coach of the tournament will receive K15, 000 from K10, 000 with the player of the tournament walking away with K15, 000.
Man of the Match of prizes will be K5, 000 from the K1, 000 pocketed last year.
The tournament will take place between 6th September and 21st October. The division one elimination play-offs will take place on Wednesday 6th September at a venue yet to be announced.
