Ulinzi Stars keeper James Saruni puts blame squarely on match officials for the disappointing outing to Muhoroni Youth on Sunday July 26,2015.
The ill-tempered Kenyan Premier League match saw center referee James Kagera flash out red card three times, sending off Ulinzi’s Oliver Ruto in the 81st minute with teammate Oscar Wamalwa and Muhoroni’s Wycliffe Nyangechi joining him in the showers in the later minutes of the match.
“It was a very disappointing game to lose and ending with two red cards was even worse. I can say the match officials were not 100% fair. Saruni told club’s website.
The keeper also believes the poor playing surface of the pitch also had a role in the 2-1 loss.
“It was a difficult surface to play on. However, that is a result we put behind us and focus on the next match,” Saruni added.
Michael Khaduli and Wycliffe Ochomo scored for Muhoroni Youth while John Makwata netted the Ulinzi’s lone goal.
The soldiers host local rivals Nakuru All Stars in their next fixture on Sunday August 2,2015.
“Every game is now very tough and we need to push and give effort in all. We are determined to finish better than last season and in the remaining ten matches, we have to give it a push.” The deputy captain noted. He concluded.
