Three-time Champions League winner Samuel Eto’o is unhappy at Antalyaspor and wants to leave but the club president Ali Safak Ozturk is opposed,according to Cameroun Web.
In an interview due to be published on Monday,Eto’o, 36, says morale is low since he has not been in good terms with the club president.
“If you do not let me go to Besiktas,I will not play this season,”said Etoo.
But Antalyaspor president Ali Safak has reacted very strongly by condeming the statement of the former Cameroon international.
“This attitude of Samuel Eto’o deserves the heaviest punishment,” said the president of Antalyaspor.
Wilfried de Happi, the agent of Samuel Eto’o considers that the club must understand the player grievances and demands Antalyaspor to protect Etoo.
“I still think the player has the right to be respected. We want to go to a club that recognizes the player at its true value. He showed that he could still play at the highest level. ”
“So far Ali does not want to hear. He does not wish to see Samuel Eto’o playing in another Turkish club.
The club has said that if he wants Eto’o to leave,the new club will be required to cough €3 million and must be out of Turkey.
The Cameroonian joined the Turkish club after leaving Serie A side Sampdoria in 2015 after just five months.
Eto’o enjoyed much of his success at Barca, where he was from 2004 to 2009.
His trophies there included three La Liga crowns, alongside former Brazil forward Ronaldinho, and two Champions League titles.
He also won the Champions League, under coach Jose Mourinho, at Inter Milan in 2010, and has an Olympic gold medal, which he won with Cameroon in 2000.
