Police outfit Nkwazi Football Club this afternoon stunned league leaders Zanaco with a 1-0 victory in a week 17 rescheduled game played at Edwin Imboela stadium in Lusaka.
U-17 sensation Lameck Banda scored the all important goal in the 4th minute, Edward Mwamba providing the assist.
Zanaco who were looking to go three points clear at the summit of the table were pegged back by a resilient Nkwazi side battling to sail clear of the relegation zone.
Numba Mumamba’s charges huffed and puffed in search of an opening but couldn’t break down the Nkwazi rearguard.
Even the presence of Zambian International players in the bankers team, Toster Nsabata, Ziyo Tembo, Ernest Mbewe and Augustine Mulenga could not inspire the defending Champions to the much desired results.
Zanaco stay top however on 50 points tied with Green Buffaloes separated only by goal difference.
Zesco United are 4 points behind top spot but have two games in hand will look to take advantage after their title rivals dropped points at Imboela.
