Gabon Football Federation [FEGAFOOT] has suspended its Secretary General Jean Felix Mba Nze from his duties with immediate effect.
The decision to suspend Nze has been reached in a Executive Committee’s meeting held on Thursday 14 September 2017 at Fegafoot headquarters in Libreville.
Nze is accused of making administrative error contrary to the constitution.
According to the Fegafoot’s spokesperson, Nze has been suspended for failing to inform the Exco and technical staff on time about suspension of two of national team players despite receiving FIFA’s letter.
Lemina Mario Rene Junior and Merlina Koumba Abdoulaye were nearly named in the starting team that went on to play in 2018 World Cup qualifier aganist Ivory Coast.
Fegafoot explained the decision citing that the administrative error would have severely affected the team as FIFA could have cracked the whip if the players were fielded.
In the match played at Bouake, the visitors won 2-1 through Axel Meye who fired home before Southampton’s Mario Lemina curled home a beauty after 29 minutes.
Further reports from the meeting indicate that Gil Sebastian Ndume will act as the secretary general while investigations into the conduct of the suspended official continue.
