Nigeria coach Salisu Yusuf admitted that his side disappointed the nation and didn’t perform well at all, but he urged his boys to man up and redeem themselves.
Super Eagles will play Guinea in next Group A match of 2017 WAFU Cup of Nations on Saturday September 16 in a must win encounter to remain in the competition.
Speaking to Fox Sports after a goalless draw aganist Mali,the local Super Eagles coach says he was dissapointed with the result and that they will now need to work hard to beat Guinea.
“’We couldn’t play up to our standard although the team defended very well,” said Yusuf.
“We will work hard to win our next game because to qualify you need to beat the other teams. That’s the mindset – to be able to win our next game and the last game.
Nigeria will go into the match knowing well that their opponents are a wounded side after 2-0 loss to Ghana in another Group A match played in Cape Coast Stadium on Thursday.
