The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has fined Zambia 7000.00 Swiss Francs (US$7,200.00) in addition to a warning after fans threw objects during the 2018 World Cup qualifier with Algeria played at the National Heroes Stadium on 2nd September, 2017.
According to fifa.com, Zambia has been charged and warned “for improper conduct among spectators (throwing objects [bottles]) as per articles 65 and 67 of the FDC FIFA Stadium Safety and Security Regulations.”
Zambia defeated Algeria 3-1 at the Heroes stadium before winning the return leg in Algeria 1-0 to keep the Chipolopolo in the running for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
They face Nigeria next in a do or die encounter in Uyo on Saturday 7 October 2017.
