Uganda international defender Godfrey Walusimbi has penned a new two-year deal to remain with Kenyan giants Gor Mahia.

Walusimbi formerly of Don Bosco in the DRC has remained a cog in the team since joining in 2014.

He also been a regular with the Ugandan Cranes and helped the team to qualify for the 2017 AFCON in Gabon for the first time in 39-years.

Gor skipper Musa Mohammed has also renewed his vows with the 2017 Kenyan Premier League champions elect by a similar duration.

The defender who has only served K’Ogalo in his entire senior career, cements his position as the longest serving player at the club.

Musa is also the most decorated player with four KPL titles and several other trophies.

Gor has also handed dependable central defender Harun Shakava a two-year contract extension.

The development comes a day after Rwandan goal-poacher Jacques Tuyisenge committed his future at the club by signing a fresh two-year deal.

All the players were running out of contracts and were linked with a move away from the “green army.”

Gor management has pledged an improved show in the African Champions League next year.

To this end, the chairman has committed to retain the core part of the team while strengthening it further.

The position is shared by the head coach Dylan Kerr.

A Ghanaian striker is believed to be nearing joining the team.
