Ushuru Vs Sofapaka
Date: 07/08,2015
Venue: Nyayo Stadium
Ushuru FC will have to be in their best colors to upset a resurgent “Batoto Ba Mungu” which has since recovered from the 5-0 humiliation in the hands of Tusker three weeks ago to claim back to back wins.
Ushuru lie ninth on the KPL log with twenty nine points from twenty matches; a win against Sofapaka will see them jump to seventh above Mathare United.
The tax men are yet to taste victory in their last four fixtures, losing three times and drawing once in the month of July – a poor record Coach Ken Kenyatta would wish to leave behind, into the month of August.
Kenyatta will also be worried about his side’s poor run against his Friday’s opponent, which stands at three loses in the past three encounters. This includes the 2-1 loss in the first leg of this tie in February.
Sofapaka recorded their second win on the trot with a 2-0 triumph over strugglers City Stars over the weekend, giving them enough confidence heading into this crucial fixture.
The Sam Timbe Coached side must continue with the winning streak if they still dream of the crown; they lie third on the log, seven points a drift of leaders Gor Mahia who boasts of three matches at hand.
Players to watch
Moses Arita will be a marked man in the Ushuru team, the experienced forward has scored six times and he will be relied upon to deliver more goals tomorrow. Super sub Allan Katerega will for sure play a role in the match, he has always changed the tides for coach Kenyatta off the bench, a role he may play again against Sofapaka; he boasts of three goals.
Vintage John Baraza still remains the main man in Sofapaka’s forward line even after the arrival of Herman Wasswa from Uganda, he is the top scorer with six goals, his predatory instincts will be put to test again tomorrow.
Kick-off 710 PM
