Senegal keeper Khadim N’Diaye says he is not losing any sleep about sparring with Poland’s feared striker Robert Lewandowski few months to their opening Group H World Cup game in Russia.
Ndiaye is Senegal’s last line of defense against a Lewandowski-led Polish attack and is confident they will have no trouble qualifying from their pool starting with their opening game against White and Reds.
In an interview on Tuesday from his base in Guinea where he turns for top division giants Horoya AC, N’diaye hardly appeared to be shaking in his boots at coming up against the Bayern Munich giant.
“I do not fear any player, nor Lewandowski, nor any team. Whether it’s called Poland, Colombia or Japan, it does not matter to me, “Nd’iaye told Senegal 7.
The former Dakar based outfit Jaraaf’s custodian added that all the teams that qualified to the global event are equal and no team should be underrated.
“If it was a big players affair only, Messi’s Argentina or Cristiano’s Portugal would have won the World Cup. We respect our opponents in our group, but we will never let down the guard, “N’Diaye said.
N’diaye, earned his first call up for the Senegal national team in November 2009 and made on 28 May 2010 his debut against Denmark and reflecting his performance on the road to the finals promised to give all his best in Russia.
“I intend to give my best to be at the top of the World Cup and to ensure that the Senegal flag is well set in Russia. We will do everything so that after the World Cup we will be higher. “
