Concentration on Tuesday evening was on tactical approach with coach Barthemely Ngatsono testing out his possible starting eleven against DRC’s outfit AS Vita Club in a friendly next week, as they prepare to face Cameroon on first championship Group D match that will be played on 16th January.
“The objective of this match is to see if our players are able to stand up against any opponent. In other words, it will allow us to have a clear idea of our players.
“As you know V Club is almost the backbone of the national team of the DRC. This team played the Africa Champions League, “said the local Red Devils coach.
When asked about CHAN’s Group D opponents who are Angola, Cameroon and Burkina Faso, Ngatsono says,
“All the teams are starting at zero point, besides they are not the least. These are valuable teams. It will be difficult, but we have our chances intact. We have to negotiate the first match to simplify things, “he added
The gaffer has assured the fans that Red Devils will go to Morocco to do better than their first participation in 2014 in South Africa during which they were eliminated in the first round.
“Our goal is to pass the first round and show that the Congo has progressed. It’s easy to say but on the ground, it’s a big battle. This generation also wants to talk about it, “he said.
Ngatsono has also announced inclusion an attacker Kader Bidimbou who has now joined the national team after having terminated his contract with his an overseas club.
“Our concerns are at the level of the attack. We are putting the more effort in this area. We certainly scored five goals in the last two games, it is not enough, “he concluded.
