Goztepe SK are on the verge of announcing the signing of Cameroonian international Alex Song after agreeing terms with his agent.

Rubin Kazan had hoped to secure € 3million for Song, but are sure to get a region of € 1.5 million.

Song has won 49 caps for the Cameroon national team and played for both Arsenal, where he spent six years, and Barcelona.

He left Arsenal to sign a five-year deal with Barcelona in 2012 where he made 65 appearances for the Catalan club and scored one goal.

The defensive midfielder also spent two seasons on loan at West Ham after failing to settle at Barcelona.

Song retired from international football in year 2015 few months after 2014 World Cup where he was sent off  in a group stage match against Croatia.
