Tusker FC are reportedly ready to announce the signing of Police FC midfielder Gift Ali next week.

Ali has been strongly linked with a switch to the Premier Soccer League with Bloemfontein Celtic. But, the Chimp Reports claim Tusker have won the race to sign the midfield powerhouse at undisclosed fee.

Ali shot to prominence last season as he helped fire Proline FC to a Uganda Premier League respectable position ten finish.

Francis Baraza is believed to be making more midfield options a priority as the Brewers prepare for a return to 2019 Africa clubs championships and for race to grab league title.

Ali would represent a massive addition for Tusker and the 24-year-old is set to touch down in Nairobi this week and undergo a medical.

The Ugandan has agreed a two-year deal and will become one of the brewers major signings when the announcement is made.

However, reports in Uganda claim Ali has not even agreed personal terms with Tusker.

A press release by the player’s business manager Peter Tabu on Friday has already indicated that Ali has been released by Police FC on a mutual contest.

“I would like to confirm that Gift Ali and Police FC have mutually parted ways, the club after a lot of consideration agreed that it was the best to come to conclusion and wishes the player the very best in his future endeavours,” reads part of the statement.
