Four times CAF champions league winners TP Mazembe will tour Tanzania ahead of their match against Al Hilal of Sudan on August 23.
While in Dar Es Salaam, they are expected to play a high profile friendly match against CECAFA Kagame Cup-2015 champions Azam FC. The Chamazi outfit will use the friendly tie to prepare for “Community Shield” fixture against rivals Yanga SC on August 22.
“They asked us to use our facilities and we gave them the nod. They will spend a few days here and we look forward to seizing the opportunity to test our team ahead of the Community Shield showdown.” Azam FC. Chief Executive Officer Saad Kawemba told The Citizen.
Azam is currently in Zanzibar intensifying training for the Tanzania Premier League curtain raiser while their opponent Yanga SC is camped in Mbeya City, where they are expected to play two build up matches against Zambia’s Zesco united and Malawi’s Silver Strikers FC.
The Lubumbashi giants, Mazembe, is the home of Tanzania internationals Thomas Ulimwengu and Mbwana Samatta.
