AFC Leopards attacking midfielder Allan Kateregga, who is on loan at KCCA, has been named in Uganda Cranes’ 30-man squad to start preparations for the 2018 Morocco CHAN.
Keterega ditched the Kenyan Premier League giants September for a season long loan-deal with Ugandan Champions KCCA.
His contract with Leopards will run out end of this month.
After a good start with Kampala heavyweights, the former Ushuru FC player finally earned national team call up for regional CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup in Kenya.
He played in almost all the Cranes matches as they finished third – relinquishing the title to hosts Kenya.
CECAFA Senior Challenge top scorer Nsibambi Derrick of KCCA has also made the cut same as Vipers full back Nicholas Wadada.
Former Onduparaka striker Shaban Mohammed, who missed the CECAFA tournament for U20 COSAFA championships in Zambia, has also beeen drafted in the coach Moses Basena’s side.
“The training programme starts on Wednesday 27th December 2017 at Namboole Stadium,” FUFA statement reads.
A final team of 23 players will be forwarded to CAF for the finals that kick-off 12 January to 4 February.
