The Football Association of Malawi has set December 12th as the Election date for various positions.
According to its Secretary General Suzgo Nyirenda,the date was set on 25th July at the National Executive Committee meeting held at the Sunbird Lilongwe Hotel in the capital Lilongwe.
The Malawi Electoral Commission has been tasked with the mandate to run the elections heavily criticized by Lilongwe City CEO Kelun M’mangisa who wirthdrew citing favouritism by the EC.He claimed the Elwctoral body favours incumbent Mac Millan Walter Nyamilandu who is seeking a fourth term in office.
Meanwhile,The Electoral body will meet on 5th September 2015 to put in place modalities as pertaining the elections guideline as per the codes.
FAM has appealed to aspirants going for Executive Posts to acquint themselves with the recently adopted FAM statues.
According to the elections,Sulom will have 8 votes,SRFA,CRFA,NRFA will each have 6 votes while the remaining votes will be given to the affiliates.
