Gor Mahia’s Chairman Ambrose Rachier has sought to allay any fears terming media reports of players boycotting training on Monday as unfair to the club when it was working hard to meet its obligations.
However Rachier in the same breath did not mince his words categorically saying “Gor Mahia will retain the League for the third time and we will continue paying our players as we have always done”
Rachier requested the players to dissuade from such actions as they clearly know the office has worked relentlessly to always meet their obligations.
“The issue about the players boycott has not been properly reported and its sad that despite the hardwork we have put in place the same is not appreciated. We have slightly delayed with the July pay but there is no need for any panic .We will get money from other places and pay everyone but our focus of retaining the league is firmly on course”Rachier told Sok25East.com
“I urge the players to be more considerate because they know well despite not having a sponsor for over 1 year we have continued to pay them without fail.We urge for sober ness and understanding from all stakeholders and let everyone know we are not resting on our laurels but working tirelessly to get sponsors”Rachier added.
Despite being away in Tanzania for slightly over two weeks where they finished runners up losing in the Cecafa Kagame Cup final to Azam,Mighty Kogalo as they are popularly known have remained firmly etched at the very top of the Kenyan premier league.
Gor Mahia have amassed 49 points from clean 15 wins drawing 4 after playing 19 matches .They look set to retain the Kenyan premier league for the third consecutive year.
