A bus carrying Nigerian soccer team Kwara United was involved in an accident on Wednesday that left several players needing hospital treatment.
The Illorin-based club were returning home from Bet9ja Nigeria National League Super Four competition which ended on Tuesday when their bus lost control.
No fatalities have been reported though several players are receiving treatment.
“Players and officials on our team bus were on our to Illorin when our bus was involved in an accident along Lagos-Ibandan Highway ,” the team coach John Obuh confirmed.
“Personnel on the bus are generally fine. But the club will release official statement shortly.”
The Harmony Boys secured promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League in August last year after spending two seasons in the cold.
Kwara are scheduled to host Niger Tornadoes of Minna at home on Sunday in their match day one fixture of Nigeria Professional Football League.
