Tanzania’s Taifa Stars will make do without five foreign based players when they head to Istanbul Turkey for two weeks camp this month.
Stars will play two build up matches against Libya and Kuwait while in Turkey as part of preparations for African Cup of Nations (AFCON-2017) qualifier tie against Nigeria in September.
“Coach Charles Mkwasa has decided not to call them for the Turkey camp due to their respective clubs participation in the CAF champions league.” A source told The Cutizen.
The five are however in Mkwasa’s plans for the Nigeria fixture on September 5.
They include TP Mazembe duo of Mbwana Samatta and Thomas Ulimwengu; the Lubumbashi heavyweights will be facing Sudan’s Al Hilal in the ongoing CAF champions league on Sunday, August 23 in Khartoum and their services will be needed.
