The eagerly awaited KPL super cup ,the curtain raiser to the 2018 KPL may not take place .
Gotv Shield defending champions AFC Leopards have pulled out of the clash citing financial constrain and instead opted to focus on the CAF Confederations cup and League matches
AFC leopards organizing secretary Timothy Lilumbi said they can not manage the bills after KPL stated they will not take care of the accommodation and other expenses
“We will not take part in the super cup .We currently do not have a sponsor and KPL wants us to foot all the costs including accommodation and players allowances .”
Gor and AFC Leopards are scheduled to meet on Sunday at the Nakuru Afraha’s stadium .
Elsewhere ,AFC leopards have been given a green light to use the Bukhungu stadium in Kakamega for the CAF matches .
CAF inspectors who visited the country approved the stadium that hosted the CECAFA matches to the relief of the club who said they will maximize on their fan base at the western region
Leopards will meet Madagascar’s Fosa Junior in the fist leg on Feb 9th
