Arsenal have signed Gabon forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund for a club-record fee of £55.4 million (€63m).
The 28-year-old striker has agreed a three-and-a-half year deal at the Emirates Stadium,having passed a medical on transfer deadline day.
The new development has been announced by Dortmund’s sporting director, Michael Zorc on the club website in a statement that reads,
“Apart from the unpleasant episodes in the past few weeks we would like to remember that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at BVB was a real success story.
“In this team he performed superbly for Borussia Dortmund and scored many important goals and was part of the team that won the German Cup in 2017. We wish Pierre-Emerick all the best for his future at Arsenal.”
The English Premier League giants,Arsenal, have confirmed the signing in a statement posted on their official portal.
“Aubameyang has joined us from Borussia Dortmund on a long-term contract for a club-record fee,”reads a post on Arsenal official website.
“Our second signing of the January transfer window, Auba is one of the world’s most highly-rated strikers.
“This deal is subject to the completion of regulatory processes and Auba’s squad number will be confirmed shortly.”
The 2016 CAF African Footballer of the Year arrives in north London with a formidable goalscoring reputation, having scored 100 goals in 119 appearances for Dortmund since the start of the 2015-16 season.
