Ahead of African Champions League kickoff, Botswana’s Township Rollers have branded a luxury bus for their Saturday’s opponents Al Merrikh of Sudan to facilitate their “smooth and secure” transport.

Rollers have also confirmed accommodation for the visitors, who arrive in the Southern African nation Thursday.

“We have branded our previous luxury bus with Al Merrikh SC to facilitate smooth and safe transport for our visiting opponents Al Merrikh team and their delegates, and booked their travel along with police escort,” the club stated.

The two teams lock horns Saturday at the National Stadium, Gaborone in the two-legged Champions League preliminary round tie.

Rollers have also called on their supporters to “graciously” gather in numbers at the Sir Seretse Khama International Airport to receive the Sudanese, who touch down at 14:15hrs local time Thursday.

The Botswana champions are also negotiating with BTV to broadcast the game live across the country and hopefully relay the feed to Sudan.

However, the club is rallying fans to throng the stadium to feel the “real essence, liveliness, exuberance and enthusiasm of the game.”

The club’s warm gesture gives a fresh image to hosting teams, who some have in the past been accused of deploying dirty tricks to frustrate visitors during such matches.
