Thousands of fans were unhappy and left the gates of the Amaan stadium after Zesco United locked them outside ,The fans had come to witness the Zambian champions train at the stadium but were shocked to find the gates locked .They later protested after a Zesco official told them to come on the match day as they are not allowed to watch them train .
It has been a norm in Zanzibar whenever continental matches are played fans get to the stadium to watch the visiting team train but it was different yesterday.Its only the media who were allowed in but it ws limited to 15 minutes
Zesco United are in the country to honour a CAF Champions league clash against Zanzibar Champions JKU.
Another club Zimamoto will take on Walaitta Dicha of Ethiopia on Sunday in the CAF confederations Cup at the same stadium
meanwhile,a group of Zesco United fans led by Nixon Zulu that left Ndola by road on wednesday have reached Dar es salaam safely and are preparing to take a ferry to the island of zanzibar to cheer their team as they take on Jeshi la Kujenga Uchumi.
