DR Congo’s league (Linafoot) management body has set a side result of Sunday’s chaotic match between FC St. Eloi Lupopo and TP Mazembe at Kibassa Stadium, Lubumbashi pending investigations.

Mezembe were leading the game by Ben Malango’s first half goal till ten minutes to stoppage time in the second stanza when Lupopo’s equalizer was flagged offside.

Chaos ensued thereafter as players and fans bitterly protested the call which video reviews suggest was spot on.

A section of the home fans vented their anger by destroying property.

The lineslady had to be whisked to safety under tight security.

Despite Lupopo players agreeing to continue play, the acts of hooliganism escalated leading to the match being suspended.

Linafoot’s extraordinary session Monday decided to suspend the result pending investigations by Competitions and Disciplinary Committee.

Provincial Sports Commission has also stepped in and on Monday summoned two officials of both clubs to help assess extent of damage on the stadium facilities.

Mazembe lead Linafoot’s Central Division standings on 36 points, six more than second placed Lupopo.
