Togo are looking to arrange a friendly against Ivory Coast or Madagascar during the FIFA match weekend of March 19-27 as they prepare to face Benin in Africa Cup of Nations qualification match.

Information doing the rounds is that the Togo Football Federation (FTF) are aiming to face the Elephants and the Mambas in France where the team is scheduled to pitch camp for one week.

“We are in talks with Ivory Coast and Madagascar for a possible friendly for the Hawks,” a source at FTF has also revealed.

The decision to play the matches away from Lome was arrived at due to the ongoing renovations at Kague Stadium which is the only pitch allowed by CAF to host international matches- in a move aimed at ensuring the Hawks gets adequate preparations for the looming Benin test.

It is also reported that Togo FA have organised a camp for local-based players to start training ahead of the friendlies with all foreign players led by Emmanuel Adebayor expected to link up with the team in Paris.

The Hawks are placed at the bottom Group D of the qualifiers with Algeria leading followed by Benin and Gambia.
