Paul Mucureezi powered KCCA through to the next stage of the CAF Champions League at the expense of CNaPS Sport.
The match finished 1-0 to the home side after a tense twenty minutes to stoppage time that was enough to knock-out the Malagasy side on the away goals rule after the first leg ended 2-1 in favour of CNaPS in Madagascar.
Goals from Fenosoa Ratolojanhary and Francis Rafaralahy had given the Madagascan side a home win but Derrick Nsimbabi goal away was important to assist Kasasiro boys get into next stage.
KCCA started the match on the front foot and after Allan Okello curled a shot over the bar in the 10th minute.
More opportunities followed for Kasasiro boys as Awamy fired wide, Kirabira kicked over the bar and Obenchan missed from close range.
But somewhat against the run of play, the Madagascan team nearly struck on 29 minutes but Charles Lukwago was equal to the task and easily collected a header.
A couple of minutes later, it was the turn of Derrick Nsimbabi to be denied superbly by the CNaPS keeper.
Mike Mutebi’s side came out after the break looking for goals and created chances.
But there was no change to the score-line as Bukenya fired wide, Kiiza sent an effort straight at the CNaPS keeper and Deniss Okot smashed a free kick over the bar.
Mucueezi brought it under control before beating CNaPS goalie with a powerful header to send the home fans into raptures and the Madagascan players to their knees in despair.
With ten minutes to final whistle Mucureezi squandered open opportunity before the visiting side had a header go wide in a rare chance for them.
There were one or two anxious moments late in the game for KCCA as the Madagascan side pressed for the equaliser which would have knocked Kasasiro boys out.
But the hosts held firm in defence to book their spot in the first round proper, where they will take on Ethiopian outfit St George in the middle of next month.
