Confederation Cup Pre Group Stage
While the CAF Champions League progresses to the Group Stages, Confederation Cup has one more round before the group stages that will see winners of the first round meet losers of the first round from the Champions League .
After the second leg of the first round in both the Champions League and the Confederations Cup 32 teams are set to fight for the 16 slots that will make the group stages of the CAF Confederations Cup.
16 losers from the Champions League first round stage have since been identified and dropped to the pre group stage of the CAF Confederations Cup.
16 winners from the CAF Confederations Cup are also known and welcome the 16 from the champions league.
Draws will be made for the pairing but all teams from the Champions League will start the first leg at home and play the second leg away to the winners of the first round of the CAF Confederations Cup.
Nigeria has the highest number of teams taking part in the pre group stages as all four teams that were representating Nigeria are awaiting draws in the second tier.
The rest of the countries have two and one clubs respectively.
