The facts finding mission of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to Cameroon has wrapped up second visit to various infrastructures to host the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
The three-day visit headed by CAF Director of competitions, Ismail Walle featured members of the Rolland Berger Company led by one of their senior officials, Jean Louis Romaain.
The delegates kicked off the tour in Garoua where they had a stop at Cotonsport Sports Complex before proceeding to the Poumpoumre Training Ground and later went to Cenajes Training Ground for inspection.
From Garoua the team went to Rounde where Adjia Stadium together with its annex stadium were inspected with samples of the grass, soils, playing surface, changing rooms, electricity and water supply systems, security and communication systems checked.
They later proceeded to the Bafoussam, Douala and finally completed their inspection in Yaoundé on Wednesday.
Before leaving Yaounde, the Caf delegation met the Minister of Sports and Physical Education Bidoung Mkpatt, who took the opportunity to reiterate Cameroon’s determination to implement the recommendations of the first inspection mission of the CAF.
No public declaration was made by the delegation on Cameroon’s readiness to host the football jamboree. It is important to note that this is the second visit of the CAF inspection team to the country with a host of other visit expected in the months ahead before the final report from CAF president Ahmad Ahmad is made.
