Sebastien Migne has left his position as coach of Congo Brazzaville citing poor working conditions.
Migne joined the team in March 2017 on a two-year deal replacing Pierre Lenchantre who was shown the door after a series of poor results.
“I would like to thank all the people who gave me their support and the opportunity to train this team, with a special gratitude to Minister of Sports,”said Migne in a statement.
Early this month, Migne had called for a more technical approach to the management of the national team in a bid to qualify for the continental tournament’s finals in Cameroon.
“I would have liked to stay longer in the quest to reach the 2019 African Cup of Nations, but it is unfortunately impossible. I wish the team all the best of luck and remain convinced in their ability to qualify,” he added.
The 45-year-old gaffer was previously coach of the Democratic Republic of Congo national U-20 football team where he became the first coach to qualify the team for the continental championships.
He joined Congo as an assistant to Claude LeRoy’s assistant until November 2015 where together they took the Red Devils, Congo to the quarter-finals of that year’s Africa Cup of Nations which was their first appearance at the finals since in fifteen years.
