The draw for the group stage will be held on 21 April 2018, 14:00 EET (UTC+2), in Cairo, Egypt. The 16 teams, all winners of the play-off round of qualifying, are drawn into four groups of four. The teams are seeded by their performances in the CAF competitions for the previous five seasons (CAF 5-Year Ranking points shown in parentheses).
Algerian side USM Alger (35 pts),Sudan’s Al Hilal Omdurman( 21pts),Nigeria’s Enyimba (8 pts ) and Congo DR ‘s AS Vita Club( 15 pts ) are the top seeded teams heading into the draws and will avoid each other in the group stages
the other 12 teams will be pooled in any of the 4 groups of four teams each

The Confederation Cup matches will now be played on weekday of Wednesday and weekend of Sunday while the CAF Champions league will be played on Tuesday ,Saturday and Fridays
