A mouth-watering CAF Champions League Group A clash is expected tonight pitting Township Rollers of Botswana and Ugandan side KCCA FC at the Botswana National Stadium.
Both sides would be making their debuts in the stage of the competition. The Ugandan side boasts better experience in the continental games as they reached the group stages of the CAF Confederations Cup last year.
The Kasasiro Boys collected nine points and conceded a single goal in their CAF endeavors.
Domestically the two teams are coming into this game boasting of some impressive run in their respective leagues.
At home, the Township rollers have only failed to score once this season at an international competition, which came against Young Africans of Tanzania.
Apart from that, they have managed to score more than two goals at this tournament something that should worry their Friday 4th opponent. On the other hand, KCCA, who are playing away from home, have failed to record positive results for this tournament when playing away this season.
The Ugandan side went through group stages qualifiers without an away win, which is likely to be seen again in their first group stages match for the CAFCL 2018.
Given the good home record of Township Rollers the home team is expected to go out and register a couple of goals, which will be very vital given that they still have to face the likes of Al Ahly and Esperance Tunis in the group stages.
However, KCCA are expected to prove a point that they are not into group stages by luck, and looking at the squad that has traveled down south, it is an indicator that they are going into this match for some good results.
Township Rollers come into this game with a fully fit squad but they will be without the services of the injured Ofentse Nato who missed the earlier stages because he was a late addition to the team in the January transfer window.
Another player who will be missing the action is Edwin Moalosi, the man who scored when they beat Merreikh 3-0 in their opening game of the campaign, through suspension.
For KCCA ,who are the first Ugandan side to reach the Champions League group stages after eliminating CNaPS FC of Madagascar and Ethiopia’s Saint George en route to the final 16, they will first-choice keeper Charles Lukwago also due to suspension
