Renaissance Sportive de Berkane silenced Al-Hilal Omdurman in a CAF Confederation Cup Group B clash on Sunday afternoon.
The only goal of the game came in the second minute, as Moroccan international Kodjo Fo Doh scored from a quick counter-attack to stun the visitors.
Al Hilal did all the attacking after the goal, Elgan Hassan and Geovane Maranhao carving out chances although they failed to convert.
Clear-cut chances were hard to come by for the Sudanese side in the opening stanza and they were restricted to efforts from distance, none of which troubled Mhamdi at Berkane’s goal.
Abu Aagla then had two excellent chances, first missing a one-on-one, which the goalkeeper saved, and then failing to steer his effort on target after being picked out at the back post.
The second half got off to a bad start for the visitors when Morgan Gould was sent off five minutes after the restart.
Berkane managed to carve out a couple more chances as the half went on the Blues remained solid at the back.
Hamdi Laachir was introduced on 66 minutes, taking the place of Landen Akhimis for the visitors.
Guma Awaad came to Hilal’s rescue in the 84th minute, as the shot-stopper produced a good save to deny EL Mubaraky.
