Things are looking rosy for Angolan International Gelson Dala after he joined Sporting in their first training session as he hopes to be part of the main team coached by Jose Peseiro.Gelson who recovered from a nagging thigh injury is anxiously awaiting the decision from coach Peseiro after impressing in training and his proven goal scoring track record.
Gelson Dala, 21, started well the last season in Rio Ave club, however a thigh injury ruled him out of the season as he had to come back and fight to regain fitness after rigorous physiotherapy.
In 2016, the striker was the top scorer of Angola’s first division National Football Championship (Girabola) with 23 goals. He arrived in Portugal in the same year signing a contract with Sporting de Portugal.
In the first season, playing in Sporting’s B-Team, Gelson scored 16 goals in 20 games.
