In an emergency meeting called to look into issues that lead to snubbing of the bronze medal by Gor Mahia football club players ,an amicable solution has been reached and now the Defending Kenyan Premier league champions are ready for tomorrow’s CAF Confederations cup clash against Yanga of Tanzania
In the meeting it emerged that the KPL money which they were to share with players after winning last season’s league has not been received by the body managing the league. It was agreed that as soon as it is received, the players will benefit .
Also agreed was the CAF money which the players were promised that will be delivered at the end of the CAF tournament
Both the players and the technical bench apologized for the embarrassment at the CECAFA Kagame cup where they snubbed the medals ceremony earning Gor Mahia a two year ban.
It was also agreed that investigations on what transpired into the snubbing of the even to continue
Gor Mahia are second in group D of the CAF Confederations cup and will seek to get their first win in the group to consolidate it’s second spot or move to the top spot if USM Alger falter in Kigali.
The match will be played at the Moon international stadium in Kasarani beginning 7 pm with the other clash between USM Alger of Algeria and Rayon Sports of Rwanda set for the same day at the Stade Regional Nyamirambo .
The first two teams qualifies to the quarter finals where they will meet the top two winners of group C that has Enyimba of Nigeria ,CARA Brazaville of Congo ,Wilamsville of Ivory Coast and Djoliba of Mali
