Federation of International Football Federation (FIFA) has threatened Government to withdraw its court process on the dissolution of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

This is captured in a letter signed and released by the Body’s General Secretary Fatma Samoura.

Should the Government fail to heed to the August 27 deadline from the World Governing Football Body will face a ban.

Domestic football in the country has been brought to a standstill after an Accra High Court granted an application by the Attorney General to aid Government dissolve the GFA following an exposé by Ghanaian investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas in which GFA Boss Kwesi Nyantekyi and some officiating officials were engaged in corrupt deals.

Following the revelations, Mr. Nyantekyi stepped down from his roles as GFA Boss, CAF 1st vice President and subsequently FIFA Council Member.

However, the 49 year-old lawyer and investment Banker was slapped with a three months provisional ban from all football related activities from FIFA.

Government set up a committee led by Kofi Amoah to steer the affairs of football in the country after holding talks with FIFA.
