The Egyptian Football Association has announced that former Egypt U-23 coach Hany Ramzy Ramzy has been appointed as the assistant coach of Egypt manager Javier Aguirre.
Aguirre has been appointed as Egypt’s new national team manager earlier in August following the dismissal of Hector Cuper last month.
The 59-year-old was included in a four-manager shortlist set by the EFA featuring Jorge Luis Pinto, Quique Sánchez Flores and Vahid Halilhodžić, but the final choice of the associations board members fell on the former Japan coach.
The Egyptian association stated in an official press release that Hany Ramez will assist Aguirre in Egypt’s technical staff.
Former Al Ahly and Egypt’s goalkeepers coach under Cuper’s stint Ahmed Nagy is set to remain in his post.
The statement also mentioned that the FA board postponed their decision regarding the choice of the medical and administrative staff of the national team.
