The question of whether the Normalisation Committee is seeking for another mandate at the helm of the Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT, has grip the minds of Cameroonians in Yaounde as no one knows exactly what is happening.
Haven been fixed to come to an end on August 31, 2018, no line has changed regarding Cameroonian football, despite the readiness of the Cameroonian government to promulgate the new law of sports and physical activities.
Talking to Soka25East, Cameroonians along the streets of Yaounde said, it is a shame for a committee that stood for a one mandate be seeking for the third mandate with no elections held.
According to some Cameroonians, the high corruption in the football sector is making things impossible for things to normalise in the football house given that the committee want to stay as long as organising the 2019 AFCON.
After publishing the programme of activities that was geared towards conducting elections into the FECAFOOT, by August 31, Cameroonians are yet to understand what happening.
However, reports indicate that the head of the Communication Department, Perfect Siki, have been touring some media houses in Cameroon explaining why it would be important to give the Committee a further extension:
“Do you think we can hold an election on October 6 when the election presidential election takes place on 7 October?” Perfect Siki explained
According to him, the delegates of the General Assembly will need time to study the texts before adopting them. And yet, in an outing last month, Dieudonné Happi, the head of the Normalisation Committee explained that the texts had been returned to FIFA for verification, although no communication has so far expressed the satisfaction or not of this verification.
While waiting for FIFA President, Gianni Infantino to express his concerns in the coming days, it will be the third postponement of the mandate if it is pushed forward.
