A total of eight matches were played over the weekend in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) with seven marking the end of Round 30 while one was a catch up game involving Thika United and Gor Mahia.
Saturday 15th September
AFC Leopards 2-1 Posta Rangers
Alex Orotomal produced a man of the match performance as AFC Leopards beat Posta Rangers 2-1 in an entertaining match played at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
The Nigerian International grabbed a brace, taking his season tally to 4 goals while Gearson Likonoh scored Posta’s lone goal.
Chemelil Sugar FC 1-0 Mathare United
Felix Oluoch’s first half strike was all Chemelil Sugar needed to beat Mathare United at the Chemelil Complex. The victory is crucial for the homeside as they continue their fight to avoid the chop. They are currently 16th in the log with 31 points having played 30 matches.
Nakumatt FC 2-5 Kariobangi Sharks
Nakumatt FC versus Kariobangi Sharks is slowly turning out to be a derby of sorts and the build up to the match witnessed a lot of drama as both sides hosts their matches at the Camp Toyoyo and train at the same venue. Both teams accused each other of spying during the week and the game day too proved the friendly hostility that is building up among the two teams. Kariobangi Sharks emerged the winner in what was the highest scoring match of the weekend.
Erick Kapaito grabbed a hat-trick for Sharks with Sidney Lokale and George Abege grabbing a goal each while Nakumatt got their goals through Peter Amani and John Njoroge.
Sunday 16th September
Zoo FC 1-1 Bandari
Yema Mwana struck in the 22nd minute after a perfect cross from the impressive Abdallah Hassan to give Bandari the lead, which they held on until the 89th minute when reigning KPL MVP Michael Madoya equalized for Zoo to ensure the two teams share spoils.
Ulinzi Stars 1-0 Wazito FC
Enosh Ochieng’s 3rd minute volley made all the difference in a highly contested match pitting Ulinzi Stars and Wazito FC at the Green Stadium in Kericho.

Thika United 1-0 Gor Mahia
Thika United got a huge boost in their relegation battle by beating champions Gor Mahia 1-0 at the Thika Sub County Stadium, the goal coming in courtesy of Michael Odongo.
Kakamega Homeboyz 3-2 Nzoia Sugar FC
Moses Mudavadi inspired Kakamega Homeboyz to a 3-2 win over Nzoia Sugar FC at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega by grabbing a brace while Keiphas Mutuu scored the other for the homeside. Nzoia Sugar got their goals through Collins Wakhungu and Brian Otieno.
Vihiga United 1-1 Sony Sugar
Vihiga United and Sony Sugar FC settled for a one-all draw at the Mumias Sports Complex. After a goalless first half veteran Fredrick Onyango gave Sony the lead in the 58th minute but Dennis Wafula equalized just two minutes later.
