Two Cameroon international players, Joel Matp and Choupo-Moting will confront each other this Tuesday September 18, 2018, when the 2018 UEFA Champions League kick-off.
Joel Matip’s Liverpool FC of England will face Paris Saint Germain of Choupo-Moting in one of the thrilling matches scheduled at Anfield stadium.
Jurgen Klopp’s swashbuckling Reds dazzled in the tournament last year, but were undone in the final as Real Madrid lifted the trophy for the third year running.
Liverpool are unbeaten in the Premier League after five games this season, but so are PSG – and Klopp’s defence will be put to the test against the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe from the very first game in Group C.
The two sides have only faced each other twice before in an official competition. Liverpool won the first leg of the 1997 Uefa Cup Winners’ Cup semi-final 2-0, but PSG went through with a 3-0 second-leg win before being beaten in the final by Barcelona.
As for PSG, Neymar and Mbappe will return after being rested in the French champions’ 4-0 win against St Etienne.
With both sides possessing some of the best attacking talents in the world, there will be goals in this one. Liverpool and PSG are at full strength, but the visitors have rested more crucial players and have had longer time since their previous match.
The Reds will have the Anfield crowd roaring them on and could win this game, but their winning run could end here. With the likes of Neymar, Mbappe, Cavani and Di Maria on from the start and Draxler able to inflict damage from the bench, the French side will likely score, but so will Liverpool, they seemingly always do.
