Nigeris Super Eagles and Girondins de Bordeaux winger Samuel Kalu is “pleased” to have scored his maiden goal for the Super Eagles in last Saturday’s 4-0 AFCON qualifiers victory over Libya in Uyo.

Speaking to www.soka25east.com after the match,  Kalu described his goal as a dream come true.

“Am well pleased to have scored my 1st goal for the National team,  as a young boy playing football on the streets,  I always dreamt of scoring for Nigeria,  and to have achieved this is wonderful,  it’s a dream come true.’ Kalu told www.soka25east.com

Kalu want on to thank his teammates and the whole super eagles coaching staff for their support since he joined the national team set up.

‘Ever since I joined the national team set up,  the boys have welcomed me with open arms,  made me feel so at home.  As well as the backroom staff and Nigerians in general,  they have shown me so much love. I hope to keep scoring and helping the team to get positive results.’

The Bordeaux forward scored Nigeria’s last goal after striker Odion Ighalo scored a hat trick,  and believes the Super eagles will get something from Tuesday’s return fixture against Libya in Sfax, Tunisia.

‘We are definitely going into that match with a mindset of get all three points.  We will approach the match with the same aggressive way like we did in Uyo. It’s not going to be easy because the Libyans want to respond to their heavy loss but am confident we will get the right result.’

A win for Nigeria on Tuesday night against Libya will take the Super Eagles five points clear of their opponents,  meaning that they will need only a point from the last two matches to qualify.
