Ghana’s sole representative Asante Kotoko would head to Kenya on Wednesday, Dec 12 for their 2018/2019 CAF Confederation Cup game vs Kariobangi Sharks. Soka25east.com can confirm
Kotoko are expected to fly to the East African country with 18 players for the crucial encounter.
The list of players include Two (2) goalkeepers, Six (6) defenders, Seven (7) midfielders and Three (3) strikers.
Sharks secured qualification to the next round following a 9-1 aggregate win over Djibouti’s Arta Solar.
The Porcupine Warriors also sealed a place to the next round without kicking a ball.
This comes after CAF cancelled their first round game after the Cameroon Football Federation (CFF) failed to present a representative for the continent second-tier club competition.
However, the MTN FA Cup holders were scheduled to play an opponent from Cameroon on Wednesday, Nov 28.
The first leg will come off at the Kenyatta Stadium on Saturday, Dec 15 at 12Pm ( Ghana Time ).
The reverse encounter will take place on Dec 23 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
The aggregate winner qualifies to the Group stage famously known as the ‘Money Zone”.
Here’s how Kotoko’s 18-man squad look like:
Goalkeepers: Felix Annan and Muntari Tagoe.
Defenders: Amos Frimpong, Augustine Sefa, Abass Mohammed, Ishmael Ganiu, Agyemang Badu and Wahab Adams.
Midfielders: Richard Senenu, Umar Bashiru, Kwame Conte Bonsu, Jordan Opoku, Daniel Nii Adjei, Emmanuel Gyamfi and Martin Antwi
Forwards: Sogne Yacouba, Navy Keita and Maxwell Baako.
