Ghana’s Emmanuel Toku has joined Portuguese primiera Liga side Boavista FC on a one-and-half-year deal.
Soka25east.com can confirm the 19-year-old, who was born and raised in Kumasi, completed his move to the Bessa-based outfit from lower-tier side Cheetah FC following a successful medical test on Tuesday.
He could make his debut for Boavista FC away at Rio Aves on Friday, March 1.
The diminutive attacked-minded midfielder was a a late replacement for New Edubiase forward – Umar Bashir – who picked up an injury prior to the Afcon U-17 in Niamey, Niger, a tournament the Black Satellites performed woefully.
Toku was a key cog for the Ghana national junior male team, Black Starlets that won silver at the Afcon U-17 in Gabon and reached the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup staged in India in 2017.
He becomes the third Ghanaian after wing-forward, Quincy Abeyie – 2014/2015 and defender, Samuel Inkoom – 2015/2016 to sign for Boavista FC
