Egyptian giants Zamalek are interested in signing Simba SC and Rwanda forward Meddie Kagere , according to the player’s agent.
Kagere’s contract expires with Simba at the end of the 2019/2020 season and now according to his agent, Patrick Gakumba, Cairo giants Zamalek have expressed their interest in the striker.
Gakumba talked to Times Sports to explain his player’s situation and revealed that the White Knights showed interest in him.
“It is true that the Egyptian side Zamalek have expressed interest in securing Kagere’s signature,” Gakumba told Times Sports.
“Simba SC are not willing to let go the player they regard as the club’s engine, and will do everything possible to keep him,” he added.
Kagere kicked off his professional career with Rwandan side Police Kibungo, where he scored over 40 goals, before moving to Tunisian side ES Zarzis.
The 32-year-old then moved to several teams across Africa and Europe including Albanian side KF Tirana, Kenyan giants Gor Mahia, and finally Simba SC.
This season in six games in the CAF Champions League, Kagere managed to score four goals, including the winner against Egypt’s Al Ahly in the group-stages.
On the international level, Kagere has 24 caps to his name with Rwandan national team, scoring 12 goals.
