Andre Onana has signed a new deal with Ajax Amsterdam that will keep him contracted to the Dutch giants until 2022.
The Cameroon international has been linked with a move away from Ajax over recent months, with Barcelona – where Onana started his youth career – reportedly interested in luring the shot-stopper back to the Camp Nou.
The 22-year-old, though, has put any speculation about his immediate future to bed by signing an improved deal with Ajax this week.
Onana has established himself as a key member of the Ajax squad over recent seasons and has caught the eye in the club’s run to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals this season.
The goalkeeper has kept an impressive 56 clean sheets in 126 games across all competitions for the Amsterdam club. He notable played an integral role in Ajax reaching the 2017 Europa League final.
This season, Onana has played 42 times for Ajax across all competitions, keeping 23 clean sheets.
