Tawfiki Bentayeb had scored earlier for Morocco national just two minutes into the second half after the Moroccans thought they had secured maximum points at Chamaza Stadium on Monday.
Senegal tried all possible means to cancel out Bentayeb’s strike until they broke the deadlock with two minutes to full time leaving the North African side frustrated with the result.
The Jamal Sellami coached side created more chances with seven shots on target compared to Senegal’s four but they failed to capitalize on them.
With a draw, Senegal is now second followed by Morocco in the group led by Cameroon who have three points, they won their opening game 2-0 against Guinea earlier on the day.
Both Morocco and Senegal need to win their two remaining group B games to ensure their qualification to the semifinals of the tournament as well as 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup held in Brazil later this year.
Morocco will play table leaders Cameroon next, the latter need just one win in their remaining two games and Guinea on April 18th and 21st respectively. They need maximum points from these two games to reach their feat.
Meanwhile, just like their fellow West Africans in Guinea, Senegal also need to win both of their remaining group games if they are to make it through to the semifinals of the tournament which made group B a tricky one.
Senegal still have to play Guinea on April 18th before taking on inform Cameroon on April 21.
