Zamalek returned to their winning ways in the Egyptian league on Thursday when they beat Ismaily 2-0 in a delayed game at Suez stadium.
Striker Omar El-Said opened the scoring in the 36th minute, while attacking midfielder Youssef “Obama” Ibrahim added the second two minutes after the break.
The win has helped them regained their place at the top of the league table with 60 points, two ahead of Ahly, who lost to Pryamids FC 1-0 on the same night.
Zamalek had the chance to score more goals but Ibrahim Hassan and Ahmed Sayed failed to score, while Ismaily seemed incapable of presenting a real threat to the Zamalek backline.
