AS Gor Mahia seeks to embolder their squad they don’t have the inability to bed new signings infact they are very good at getting fresh talents across the continent.
One man that is at the end tail of his contract at Gor Mahia is the influential and mercurial Francis Kahata. He has been the creative hub through which tempo and the majority of Kogalo’s attacking endeavour have been channelled through.
Kahata has been tempered by poise and delicacy on the pitch but outside the pitch the Gor Mahia officials have accused him to be one of the key instigators of players revolt and sit-ins that have at times led to embarrassing defeats as when Kogalo lost to RS Berkane.
The officials who have sort anonymity insist that as much as Kahata is special he has often rubbed salt in the wounds by leading the players in revolting against management providing a quandary of choices and implications on any move.
Kahata has been branded a “Rebel” who has been who was fast becoming a indispensable member of the team to the point manipulating and conspiring to “embarrass” management.
However Head Coach Hassan Oktay is listening to none of that as he has made his wish of retaining play-maker Francis Kahata, known to the management.Oktay wants him retained at all costs despite reports of indiscipline within the setup.
The Kenyan international has been reliable both for club and country.Players of such persuasion are premium commodity on the market, especially as they hold strong against dimensional attacks both on and off the pitch.
Francis Kahata renewed his contract on June 30, 2017 for a period of two years and is expected to run it out by the start of next season.
As Gor seem certain to clinch an unprecedented 18th league title, Oktay revealed his dream of advancing to the latter stages of the CAF Champions League rather than a run in the Confederations Cup.
