Sierra Leone FA President Isha Johansen has been cleared by a High Court in Freetown on Monday on charges of corruption and mismanagement.
Johansen and FA Secretary General, Chris Kamara were both acquitted and discharged after the government-backed Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) opened a case against the two.
FIFA Suspended Sierra Leone in October Last year due to interference in the running of the Sierra Leone Football Association.
The duo were were ordered to vacate their posts pending the court case but FIFA insisted it would only recognize Johansen as the rightful SLFA president.
However, Judge Reginald Fynn in passing a ruling pronounced the duo not guilty of the charges and cleared them of all charges.
The ruling will pave the way for Johansen to regain control of the federation and for the FIFA ban on the country to be lifted.
Johansen and Kamara have always denied any wrongdoing
Sierra Leone’s Africa Cup of Nations back-to-back qualifiers with Ghana in October was cancelled following the ban by FIFA.
