Senegal beat Tanzania 2-0 in their opening Afcon Group C encounter played at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo on Sunday.
Keita Balde and Krepin Diatta were on target as the Teranga Lions strolled to an easy win against Tanzania with starman Sadio Mane missing due to suspension.
Senegal’s intentions were known very early as they controlled play. Keita Balde, Idrissa Gana Gueye, Mbaye Niang and Ismaïla Sarr were keeping Tanzania busy.
Senegal eventually went ahead on 28 minutes with a good finish from Keita Balde, after he was put in by Gana Gueye.
Senegal went into the break ahead, just what Aliou Cisse had ordered.
Second Half was business as usual as the West Africans continued to search for the second goal and it came on 64 minutes. Krepin Diatta scored a memorable goal from 35 yards. A screamer leaving Manula beaten.
Tanzania offered very little and rarely threatened with Mbwana Samatta occasionally isolated through out the game.
Senegal comfortable 2-0 winners and a great start for the number one ranked team in Africa.
